Sixth Annual Mock Caldecott Night

What: Non-credit Mock Caldecott Workshop
When: Monday, January 13, 2020, 5:45 – 9:00 p.m. (Snow date: January 15, 2020)
Where: Reinberger Children’s Library Center, 3rd floor library, room 311B, Kent State University School of Information OR Synchronously Online
Cost: $10 for onsite participants (includes dinner); no cost for online participants
Limited seats available, so please register early here! Please register by Wednesday, January 8 if you plan to attend.
Participants will contribute titles to the initial reading list. Send your top pick to win the Caldecott Award to Michele Baldini mbaldini@kent.edu before Friday, January 10. The RCLC staff will compile the list of the top 20 books and send it to participants one week prior to the workshop. Virtual participants will receive login instructions prior to the event.
Mock Caldecott Itinerary
5:45 – 6:00 Presentation of procedures for the evening
6:00 – 6:30 Book discussion groups – book set #1 (7 books)
6:30 – 7:00 Dinner for those attending in the Reinberger
7:00-7:30 Book discussion groups – book set #2 (7 books)
7:30-8:00 Book discussion groups – book set #3 (6 books)
8:00-8:30 Voting and wrap-up
