Reinberger Reviews: Juliet Takes a Breath the Graphic Novel

Graphic novel version of the bestselling book, Juliet Takes a Breath. Juliet Milagros Palante is leaving her home in the Bronx for the Pacific Northwest to work with her favorite feminist author. However, during these exciting times she also just came out as a lesbian and is unsure if her mom will ever speak to her again. A story about self-discovery and what it means to be out as a Puerto Rican lesbian.

The graphic novel version of this is stunning. The art and the story mesh so well. The story is great for anyone coming out, thinking about coming out, or looking to learn more about one person’s experience in coming out and finding out who they are. I loved discovering Juliet alongside her.
