Reinberger Review
A little blue songbird just wants to sing like her sisters, but could never manage to sound as lovely as they do. Her mother tells her to go out and find her song, so she leaves her nest to travel to far-off lands and talk to many other birds about how to find her special song. Kousky uses a soft blue and gray palette in the beginning of the book when the little songbird is setting out on her quest, unsure about venturing alone into this cold landscape. When she finds her way back home, splashes of yellow reflect her joy as she realizes her song is in the telling of her adventures. This is a beautifully rendered and comforting tale to share one-on-one.
